Beskrivelse
The Xovis PC2RE is an indoor 3D people counting sensor with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for store entrances, shopping malls, offices, museums and transport hubs. It counts people in and out with 3D stereo vision and on-device AI from a ceiling height of 1.95 to 6.00 m (6.4 to 19.7 ft), and sends only anonymous counts, never images. Its radio module lets a single sensor send data over Wi-Fi, or monitor Wi-Fi and Bluetooth traffic in the area. Choose the standard PC2RE, the PC2RE-L for heights close to 6 m or the PC2RE-UL for low ceilings. Vemco is a Xovis Gold partner.

Which PC2RE model do I need?
| Model | Mounting height | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| PC2RE (standard) | 2.20–6.00 m (7.2–19.7 ft) | Most store, mall and office entrances |
| PC2RE-L | 2.20–6.00 m (7.2–19.7 ft) | Optimised for heights close to 6 m; widest coverage |
| PC2RE-UL | 1.95–3.50 m (6.4–11.5 ft) | Low ceilings and wide, low entrances |
All three models are stocked in this shop. The PC2RE has the same mounting heights and coverage as the PC2SE; the difference is the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth radio module.
Coverage by mounting height
Counting area per sensor (width × depth), from the Xovis Selection Guide (July 2026). Between 1.95 and 2.10 m the PC2RE-UL counts only, for passages up to 1.00 m wide. A dash means the height is not listed for that model.
| Height | PC2RE | PC2RE-L | PC2RE-UL |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2.2 m | 0.75 × 0.43 m | 0.75 × 0.43 m | 1.20 × 1.00 m |
| 2.5 m | 1.88 × 1.06 m | 1.88 × 1.06 m | 2.63 × 2.13 m |
| 3.0 m | 3.75 × 2.13 m | 3.75 × 2.13 m | 5.00 × 4.00 m |
| 3.5 m | 5.63 × 3.19 m | 5.63 × 3.19 m | 7.00 × 5.88 m |
| 4.0 m | 7.00 × 4.25 m | 7.50 × 4.25 m | – |
| 4.5 m | 7.00 × 5.00 m | 9.38 × 5.31 m | – |
| 5.0 m | 7.00 × 5.00 m | 11.00 × 6.38 m | – |
| 5.5 m | 7.00 × 5.00 m | 11.00 × 7.44 m | – |
| 6.0 m | 7.00 × 5.00 m | 11.00 × 8.00 m | – |
For wide entrances, combine several sensors with at least 30 cm overlap. Wi-Fi data transfer works for single sensors only; multisensor setups use Ethernet.

Sensor and software: what you get
On the sensor: in/out counting across the covered area, privacy modes, on-device storage, API, data push and the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth radio. In software: dashboards, multi-site comparisons, conversion with POS data and reporting. Use the PC2RE with VemCount, which comes with a 60-day free trial (see software plans), or connect it to your own platform through the API and MQTT.
Installation and accessories
Mount the sensor centred over the counting line and run a PoE cable to it, even when data goes over Wi-Fi. Use the PA-PC2-FM flush housing in suspended ceilings, the PA-PC2-SM surface housing on any ceiling type, the small mounting plate for repeatable positions, the PA-PC-MB wall and ceiling mount, the PA-PC2-DP drop pole adapter, the PA-PC2-TA thread adapter or the PA-PC-PS pivot mount for angled installs. Spare white or black covers are available. For staff exclusion add PA-PC-NTR or PA-PC-NTB name tags with the XC-PAB licence. Need PoE? See the Gigabit PoE injector. After mounting, Vemco can configure and validate the sensor with the remote setup and validation service, and you can extend the warranty with a 1-year or 2-year extension.
Already own a Xovis sensor, or replacing a counter?
Existing Xovis PC2, PC2S, PC2R and PC3 sensors connect to VemCount without new hardware; Vemco loads firmware and licences remotely. The PC2RE also replaces older 2D and thermal counters at the same position, and Vemco migrates your historical data. Ask a technical specialist.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the Xovis PC2RE and PC2SE?
Both use the same 3D sensor, mounting heights and coverage. The PC2RE adds a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth radio module for wireless data transfer on single sensors or for device monitoring.
Does the PC2RE still need a network cable?
Yes. It is powered over Ethernet (PoE Class 0, max 8.0 W), so it always needs a cable to a PoE source. Wi-Fi can carry the data for single sensors; multisensor setups run over Ethernet.
What mounting height does the PC2RE need?
The PC2RE and PC2RE-L mount at 2.20–6.00 m. For low ceilings choose the PC2RE-UL (1.95–3.50 m).
Can the PC2RE be installed outdoors?
No. It is an indoor sensor rated IP40 for 0 to +45 °C. For outdoor entrances choose the PC2SE-O.
How much does a people counting sensor cost?
The shop price per unit is shown above, excluding VAT. A complete project also includes mounting accessories, installation and software; VemCount starts with a 60-day free trial. Ask for a project quote.
How do I exclude staff from the counts?
Activate the XC-PAB AI licence and give staff the Xovis PA-PC-NTR or PA-PC-NTB name tags. Xovis lists staff exclusion for mounting heights of 2.50–3.50 m (PC2RE-UL: 2.40–3.25 m).
