Description
The Milesight VS135 High Ceiling is a Time-of-Flight (ToF) people counter for indoor entrances with ceilings from 2 to 6.5 m, such as shopping mall entrances, atriums, supermarkets and transport halls. It counts people in and out from a 3D depth map instead of camera images, separates adults, children and staff, and switches to a radar-based sleep mode when the area is empty. Choose PoE+, LoRaWAN or 4G.

Key features
- High ceiling ToF: mounting height up to 6.5 m (21.3 ft), detection range 2–6.5 m, 60° × 45° field of view.
- Accuracy: Milesight states up to 99.8% counting accuracy for the VS135; distance accuracy ±6.5 cm on the High Ceiling version.
- No images of people: depth map counting with 940 nm invisible light, works in darkness.
- Counting rules: up to 4 bi-directional lines, U-turn filtering, 4 regions with dwell time, group counting, children/adult, staff exclusion with the VA31 lanyard.
- Radar ESG mode for power-saving sleep when unoccupied; 3-axis tilt compensation and automatic height detection.
- Integration: PoE+ version with HTTP(S), MQTT(S), CGI, BACnet/IP, alarm I/O and stitching of up to 8 sensors.
Which VS135 High Ceiling do I need?
About the SKUs: SKUs starting with NF are Vemco's codes for Milesight VS-series sensors delivered with Vemco firmware. NF135 is the Milesight VS135, and the suffix -High marks the High Ceiling Mount version, which Milesight lists within each VS135 model in the datasheet.
| Shop SKU | Milesight model | Connectivity | Frequency plans / regions |
|---|---|---|---|
| NF135-P-White-High | VS135-P, High Ceiling Mount | Ethernet, IEEE 802.3at PoE+ or 12 V DC | No radio, works worldwide. Stocked. |
| NF135-915M-High | VS135-915M, High Ceiling Mount | LoRaWAN Class C, 12 V DC | US915 (North America), AU915 (Australia, Latin America), KR920 (Korea), AS923 (Asia-Pacific). Stocked. |
| NF135-L08EU-High | VS135-L08EU, High Ceiling Mount | 4G LTE Cat 4, 12 V DC | LTE B1/B3/B7/B8/B20/B28, WCDMA B1/B8, GSM B3/B8 (EU bands; CE). Stocked. |
| – | VS135-868M, High Ceiling Mount | LoRaWAN Class C | EU868 (Europe, Middle East, Africa), IN865 (India), RU864 (Russia). Available on request. |
| – | VS135-470M, High Ceiling Mount | LoRaWAN Class C | CN470 (China). Available on request. |
For EU868 LoRaWAN networks ask us for the 868M version. In the Americas use the PoE+ version, if needed with a UR32L or UR35 4G router (L04AF or L04AU).
Coverage by mounting height
Detection area per sensor (length × width), from the Milesight VS135 datasheet:
| Mounting height | High Ceiling version | Standard VS135 (for comparison) |
|---|---|---|
| 3.5 m (11.5 ft) | 2.08 × 1.49 m | 4.14 × 3.02 m |
| 6.5 m (21.3 ft) | 5.54 × 3.98 m | – (max 3.5 m) |
Below about 3.5 m the standard VS135 covers a wider area per sensor; the High Ceiling version is the choice from roughly 3.5 to 6.5 m.

Sensor and software: what you get
On the sensor: in/out counting, regions and dwell, staff and children detection, local storage and data push. In software: dashboards, multi-site comparison, conversion with POS data and reports. Vemco delivers the sensor with Vemco firmware, ready for VemCount, which comes with a 60-day free trial (see software plans). The hardware price does not include a software licence.
Installation and accessories
Mount the sensor centred over the entrance, pointing straight down; the 3-axis sensor compensates small tilts. For wide mall entrances plan several PoE+ units with stitching. Use the VB02 adjustable bracket for angled mounting and the VA31 staff lanyard for staff exclusion. After mounting, Vemco sets the counting line and validates the counts with the remote setup and validation service.

Frequently asked questions
What is the maximum mounting height of the Milesight VS135?
The High Ceiling version mounts up to 6.5 m (detection range 2–6.5 m). The standard version works up to 3.5 m.
Does it capture images?
No. It counts from a Time-of-Flight depth map, so no images of people are captured.
Can it be installed outdoors?
No. The VS135 is rated IP40 for indoor use. For outdoor entrances see the VS125 Outdoor (IP67).
Which LoRaWAN frequency do I need?
915M for the Americas, Australia, Korea and most of Asia-Pacific (stocked); 868M for Europe, the Middle East, Africa, India and Russia (on request).
