The Xovis PC2SE-O is an outdoor 3D people counting sensor for street-facing store entrances, open-air shopping centres, station entrances, stadium gates and event venues. It brings the functions of the indoor PC2SE into a weather-protected grey housing that guards against water and dust, counts people in and out with 3D stereo vision and on-device AI from 1.95 to 6.00 m (6.4 to 19.7 ft), and sends only anonymous counts, never images. It ships pre-assembled with casing and cable. Choose the standard PC2SE-O, the PC2SE-L-O for heights close to 6 m or the PC2SE-UL-O for low mounting points.

Counting area per sensor (width × depth), from the Xovis Selection Guide (July 2026), which lists the PC2SE-O models with the same coverage as the indoor PC2SE models. Between 1.95 and 2.10 m the PC2SE-UL-O counts only, for passages up to 1.00 m wide.

Sensor and software: what you get
On the sensor: in/out counting across the covered area, privacy modes, on-device storage, API and data push. In software: dashboards, multi-site comparisons, conversion with POS data and reporting. Use the PC2SE-O with VemCount, which comes with a 60-day free trial (see software plans), or connect it to your own platform through the API and MQTT. Optional AI extensions such as staff exclusion and gender statistics are added with the XC-PAB licence; group counting is included in firmware 5.
Installation and accessories
Mount the sensor centred over the counting line, with light of at least 9 lux on the counting area, and seal the RJ45 connection with the supplied water protection caps. For angled installs Xovis lists the PA-PC-PM medium pivot mount for the outdoor PC2 series. Need PoE? See the Gigabit PoE injector. After mounting, Vemco can configure and validate the sensor with the remote setup and validation service, and you can extend the warranty with a 1-year or 2-year extension.
